Project Background
Reliable power is the biggest operating constraint for businesses in Nigeria, where grid supply is intermittent and diesel generation is expensive. A commercial facility in Lagos needed to stabilize its supply and escape runaway fuel costs in 2024.
The Challenge
The facility relied on a diesel generator through daily outages, burning budget on fuel and maintenance while voltage swings threatened sensitive equipment. On-site construction time had to be minimal, and the solution needed to work with the existing generator and solar array rather than replacing them.
Our Solution
We supplied a 200 kWh containerized LiFePO4 energy storage system rated for 8000 cycles, integrated with the existing generator and solar array. The container arrived pre-assembled and factory-tested – including our standard 72-hour full-load test – so on-site work was limited to connection and commissioning. A cloud monitoring platform now tracks state of health, alarms and energy flows.
Results & Benefits
- Diesel runtime cut by more than 60% – stored solar energy now covers evening peaks.
- Stable voltage for sensitive equipment through every grid outage.
- Predictable energy costs with 8000-cycle batteries and remote monitoring.
- Far fewer generator maintenance visits – a model we are replicating across West African factories and cold-storage businesses.
