Project Background
A factory in Angola operated entirely on diesel, with fuel logistics consuming both budget and management attention. In 2024 we delivered a 120 kW off-grid system that turned the factory’s roof and yard into its primary power plant.
The Challenge
The production load is motor-heavy, demanding serious surge capacity, and fuel delivery delays used to stop production outright. The factory also needed its own technicians to run the system day to day – no permanent expatriate support was practical.
Our Solution
We installed panels across the factory roof and yard with LiFePO4 battery storage and three-phase IGBT inverters sized for the motor-heavy load. The system covers daytime production directly from solar and carries the load through the evening from batteries, with the generator now reserved for extended cloudy periods. Commissioning included operator training and remote monitoring setup.
Results & Benefits
- Fuel consumption down roughly 70% – diesel is now the exception, not the rule.
- Production continuity secured – output no longer stops when fuel deliveries are delayed.
- Self-sufficient operation – factory technicians manage the system daily, backed by our remote monitoring.
- A regional reference site for industrial solar across Angola.
