Project Background
A farm in the Philippines relied on expensive diesel pumping to irrigate rice and vegetable fields. In 2023 we supplied a 30 kW solar pumping system that moved the farm’s water budget from fuel receipts to sunshine.
The Challenge
Diesel pumping tied the farm’s irrigation schedule to fuel deliveries and volatile prices. The site floods seasonally, so mounting had to stay above water level, and the whole installation needed to survive the typhoon seasons that cross the region every year.
Our Solution
We configured a 30 kW system with a dedicated pump inverter that starts and runs the submersible pump directly from daylight, filling an elevated tank for gravity distribution – water in the tank is the storage, so no batteries are needed. Panels sit on galvanized ground mounting above flood level, engineered for typhoon winds.
Results & Benefits
- Pumping costs near zero after payback – no fuel, no deliveries, no generator maintenance.
- Water availability improved – pumping now follows sunshine rather than fuel logistics.
- Batteryless simplicity – elevated-tank storage keeps the system maintenance-light.
- Two typhoon seasons survived without damage – agricultural pumping remains one of our fastest-payback applications.
